Featured Product Line: Aluminum Hydraulic Filter Assemblies
Steed is known for their premium hydraulic filter assemblies offering a wide range of pressure, flow and filtration quality ratings. We offer a full range of aluminum housing hydraulic filter assemblies for return line or pressure filter applications. The FP-Series filter is available in all-aluminum construction, offering a range of mesh and glass fibre elements for return line applications less than 24 GPM (90 L/min) at below 360 PSI.
Stepping up a notch in pressure capacity (1000 PSI) but exponentially in flow rate is the SMPH mega flow series filters capable of more than 90 GPM (350 L/min) depending on the application. This same filter is available in a dual-head version (DMPH) that allows live change out of filter elements when one bowl is selected using the ball valve.
If high pressure is the game, we offer four sizes of the DHP high pressure aluminum filter assembly. Although relatively small the DHP-04 ranges from 4 GPM (15 L/min) flow rates at 3 micron absolute filtration right up to 26 GPM (100 L/min) with 40 micron mesh elements, and either example will withstand 1500 PSI of working pressure.
At the other extreme is the aluminum DHHP-10 series with up to 2” ports, and all versions rated for 3000 PSI. The smallest assembly with a 3-micron absolute filter is still capable of 37 GPM (140 L/min) and grows to 158 GPM (600 L/min) using Steed’s 40 micron mesh element. Spanning the difference between the DHP-04 and DHHP-10 are the DHP-06 and DHHP-08, which completes the DHP series to provide you with the best filter for your application and budget.
Product Spotlight 400 bar vane pumps
There are piston pumps not capable of 400 bar (5800 PSI) continuous pressure, let alone vane pumps. Steed saw a gap in the market and created their HVQ Series high-pressure vane pump. Ranging in displacement from 4cc to 23 cc, this pump is capable of 450 bar peak pressure. Even in poorly lubricated water glycol applications, this pump can still produce 255 bar (3700 PSI) all day long.
If a higher flow range is required, you can step up to the DVQ Series, producing displacements of up to 75cc/revolution, or about 4.6 cubic inches per rev. You’ll need to bring out the big guns from your electric motor supplier, since these pumps are capable of well over a hundred horsepower worth of efficient operation, while still being very contamination resistant. Keep your cool with one of the most comprehensive lines of heat exchangers on the market. With proven tube and fin design or modern plate and bar aluminum designs, we can provide the best cooling solution for your application. We offer 12- and 24-volt DC liquid-to-air coolers up to 66 GPM (250L/min), and the same flow range in all standard AC voltages. Steed also supplies a wide selection of liquid-to-liquid shell and tube heat exchangers, ranging from 16 GPM (60L/min) all the way to a monstrous 1160 GPM (4400L/min).

Filters
Steed and Higginson offer the most comprehensive line of hydraulic filters outside of the "big guys." Steed manufactures every type of suction, return and pressure filter for every application and budget. The RFTD is a staple in-tank return filter used on power units around the world, but our SMPH aluminum inline filter kicks up the flow and pressure capacity with a wide range of absolute and nominal filter elements available. From stack valve filters to small inline filters, we can provide the filter you need.
Gear Pumps
The workhorses of the hydraulic industry, gear pumps do exactly what's needed without the fluff; provide you with flow at a low cost. Although sometimes considered a commodity, you must still find a supplier with competitive price, high quality and reasonable delivery, which Steed and Higginson offer you. We have your covered with 0.35cc pumps, all the way up to 90cc and everywhere in between. As you'd expect, all configurations of mount, shaft and porting is available, so we have every application covered. Through-drive pumps in various combinations of displacement up to four pumps long can be configured. Most pumps can be optioned with high pressure seals or drains to allow operation as a motor, and some designs can be configured as flow dividers up to 7-stations wide. Modular Stack Valves
Solenoid Sandwich Valves rarely operate alone, and we've got you covered with a wide selection of pressure and flow valves for D03 up to D08 sizes. Relief, reducing and counterbalance pressure valves are offered alongside throttle and flow control valves. Various configuration of check valves (standard or pilot operated) are available for D03, D05, D07 and D08 valves. Proportional Valves
To compliment our line of stack valves, Steed and Higginson also offer a wide range of electro-proportional valves. Although they offer many forms of flow control valves, Steed's F-Series pressure compensated flow control valves are a model of accuracy and precision. We can provide fine control down to less than 1 L/min for test rigs, and options for manual or solenoid bypass. The unique front dial on the inline valves are like no other valve control method. Vane Pumps
